Daubenton's bat Tudor Williams


This photo of a bat on timber cladding at Tudor Williams in New Malden High street was taken at 23.30 September, 2013. When enlarged it was apparent that the bat was a juvenile Daubenton's so completely off normal course.

I met the partner of the person who sent me this photo earlier this year in Tolworth when they attended a rainy bat walk.



At this time of year, it is possible for animals to turn up in strange places for whatever reason. The photo of an unidentified bat turned up on a riser of the steps at Motspur Park station.


It is difficult to give advice, there are a number of options, and non-intervention is one. If moving a bat to a place of safety please wear a glove. If concerned about the welfare of an animal contact:
